About Me

Emily Desprez Isbell: Emily Desprez Isbell is a Georgia native who has taught mathematics for 9 years in high schools in Georgia and Brooklyn, New York. Most recently, Emily has worked as the High School Math Instructional Coach at Charles R. Drew Charter school in Atlanta, Georgia. In this position, Emily primarily supports teachers as well as students and families with their engagement with mathematics. Emily will spend the first 4.5 months of 2018 in Singapore as a Fulbright Scholar participating in the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching program. During this time, she is excited to be working on an inquiry project titled: Cultivating conceptual understanding and resilience through mathematical problem-solving where she will engage with local schools, curriculum designers, and the National Institute of Education in Singapore to develop math curriculum materials. Emily would like to thank her husband, family, friends, and school who encouraged her to apply for the Fulbright program and continue to support her in this journey. Currently, Emily is enrolled in a Ed. Specialist program in Curriculum & Instruction at KSU.
