Last day with Daris and Shane, TreeTop Walk

Sunday, 18 March 2018

We're so sad this is Daris and Shane's last day in Singapore.  They fly back to New York tonight, and it has been so very fun having them visit!  We got breakfast at a place called One Man Coffee really close to our apartment and then went to MacRitchie Reservoir to do the hike to the TreeTop Walk.  It was very hot outside, but the trails are so dense that it is very shaded all the way to the suspension bridge.  This time there was tons of blooming bougainvillea (flowering plant below) and a money up on the cable lines.  After the TreeTop walk, we went to eat a late lunch at Sushi Tei with Daris and Shane before they headed out to the airport.  We had a such an amazing time with them and I'm so glad they got to see what our life is like living in Singapore!

Chinatown, National Gallery, Light Show

Saturday, 17 March 2018

Because Daris and Shane have to fly out tomorrow, we tried to fit in all the best Singapore sights today.  We started out with coffee and exploring Chinatown and the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple.

Next we walked from Chinatown the Singapore National Gallery we had not been here before but loved it!  We got a coffee and some great views of the city on the way.  I can receive free entrance with my student pass and since there were so many interesting exhibits that we didn't get to see all today, Bren decided to get a membership so that we could return in the future.

After exploring the National Gallery and rooftop, we walked across the park to the Marina Bay area and then to Gardens By The Bay where we ate dinner, watched the tree light show, and then the water light show.
